The closed captions feature ensures accessibility by providing real-time text transcriptions of the instructor's speech, benefiting students with hearing impairments or those who prefer to read along for better comprehension.

How does it work?

Attendees can enable captions via the media device settings modal. Once enabled, captions should appear at the bottom of the screen.

Notes:

  • Please note the classroom only transcribes the audio from the training team (Host and TAs). Simultaneous transcription for multiple speakers from the training team is also supported.

  • First captions might take up to 5 seconds to first appear on screen.

Language support

The transcription does not automatically identify the spoken language. So, please specify that before your session. This is done via the event settings page in the admin panel and cannot be changed once the session has started.

Supported languages:

  • English, US

  • English, Australia

  • English, UK

  • Spanish, US

  • Chinese, Simplified

  • French

  • French, Canadian

  • German

  • Hindi, Indian

  • Italian

  • Japanese

  • Korean

  • Portuguese, Brazilian
